At the graduation ceremony, Kotoko is selected as the representative for her class and has to recite the Nightingale Pledge because she is Irie's wife and no one else volunteered.

After visiting the hospital, it is confirmed that Kotoko is indeed three months pregnant. Oba-san throws a party, Kotoko and Irie's fathers both lookup baby names, and even Yuuki is excited, though he tries not to show it.

Kotoko collapses in the subway from exerting herself too much during pregnancy. After being persuaded to attend pregnancy classes, Kotoko goes into labor and gives birth while Irie is in surgery.

Kotoko, Naoki and their daughter, Kotomi, go to Naoki's grandparents home. Kotoko arrives feeling excited about spending time with Irie, but is disappointed when she finds out that he had lied to her and that they will not be alone.
