It’s 1889 and people from around the globe are flocking to Paris to see scientific achievements at the Exposition Universelle despite rumors of dangers lurking in the oceans. While attending the fair, teenaged inventor Jean meets Nadia, a mysterious girl who possesses a highly sought-after crystal called Blue Water. Pursued by nefarious forces, the pair journey by sea and by sky to escape their would-be captors and to discover the secret of the crystal.

Paris, 1889. Jean, a young inventor, attends the World Exposition to take part in its flying contest. When he chances upon Nadia and tries to engage her in conversation, the two are chased by a trio who is after Nadia's jewel, the Blue Water.

Having successfully fled from the villains, Nadia spends the night at Jean's place. But the three return to attack the next morning in the Gratan, their multi-purpose tank. Nadia and Jean fly off in an aircraft Jean created, the Etoile de la Seine VIII.

The Little Fugitive

Jean and Nadia make a narrow escape from the trio, but their aircraft breaks down and a battleship rescues them. The Gratan attacks, but they are no match for a battleship. The relief is short-lived, however, as a mysterious giant sea creature appears.

During battle with the mysterious giant sea creature, Jean and Nadia are thrown overboard. Just then, another giant sea creature appears before them…or is it?

Nautilus, the Fantastic Submarine

Jean and Nadia bid farewell to the Nautilus and head for France. But they are suddenly shot down, and crash on an island, which turns out to be ruled by mysterious invaders.

Marie's Island

After their friend Marie is abducted by invaders, Jean and Nadia infiltrate a secret base in the center of the island to try and rescue her. They discover the base was built by an organization who call themselves Neo Atlantis.

Infiltration of the Secret Base

Nadia turns herself in to the enemy in order to save Jean. While holding her friends hostage, Gargoyle, the head of Neo Atlantis, pressures Nadia into helping the organization. Meanwhile, Jean heads for the center of the base to rescue them.

The Tower of Babel

Jean is reunited with the Grandis trio and they decide to join forces. Jean marches into the castle and faces Gargoyle. In exchange for Nadia and the hostages' lives, Gargoyle attempts to get him to tell where the Blue Water is.

Mission to Rescue Nadia

The Neo Atlantis base collapses and everyone escapes in the Gratan. Sounding an SOS to the Nautilus, they are rescued by Nemo, who cannot hide his surprise at seeing Nadia for the first time.

Nemo's Secret

The Nautilus pursues Gargoyle's airship the Carcharodon, but instead are trapped in the strait, surrounded by drifting mines. Grandis, who is in love with Nemo, proposes a plan to remove the mines using the newly repaired Gratan.

A Crowning Performance by the Gratan

Grandis and the gang are appointed as apprentice crew. Now a recognized guest, Nadia tries to be of use by helping Grandis in the kitchen but keeps messing up. Meanwhile, Jean wanders into the engine chamber and catches sight of something…

New Recruits for the Nautilus

Nemo grants a hunt day and lands Nautilus on an uninhabited island. As the crew stream onto the island, Jean is amazed to see how many have assembled to destroy Neo Atlantis. That night, on the island's beach, Grandis tells Nadia about her past.

Grandis and Her First Love

Enraged that a fawn has been hunted for food, Nadia gets into a fight with Jean. Meanwhile, as the crew members are working, Marie decides to explore the island with King. They get lost and stumble upon the Garfish, which is anchored off the island.

Run Marie Run

The Nautilus sets off again in pursuit of the Garfish. Just then, Marie is struck by fever and Nadia also collapses. The two are given two days to live and to save them the crew must get a special herb found on the ocean floor.

The Valley of Dinicthys

Though Jean is increasingly mesmerized by the Nautilus's technology, Nadia is repulsed. When the Nautilus is damaged in battle it must surface for repairs but waiting for them is an American fleet and soon an attack has begun.

Nautilus Faces Its Biggest Crisis

Nadia is haunted by the conflict caused by the Blue Water. Meanwhile, the Nautilus heads to an underwater ruin to lay some of its crew members to rest. As the crew pay their respects, Jean spots something.

The Mystery of the Lost Continent

Having learned of his father's death, Jean wants to become a member of the Nautilus' crew in order to avenge him, but Nemo refuses. To cheer him up, Nadia says she wants to fly in his aircraft again, prompting Jean to design a new autogiro.

Jean’s New Invention

Running low on supplies, the Nautilus heads for a secret base in Antarctica. However, the ship is trapped by a nautilus, a mollusk that has lived hundreds of millions of years ago. The submarine takes a direct hit as the mollusk’s tightens its grip.

Nautilus vs Nautilus

As Nemo, Jean, and Nadia traverse Antarctica they pass through an ice museum filled with extinct species. Jean and Nadia are astonished at these unfamiliar lifeforms. Then, at their destination, they find Nemo's friend, a whale named lrion.

Nemo's Best Friend

Gargoyle constructs a flying battleship and attempts to defeat Nemo. Meanwhile, Jean is immersed in his inventions and creates a miniature jet plane. But when its test flight fails, the explosion causes the Nautilus to be detected by the Garfish.

Jean Makes A Mistake

Gargoyle deploys his new Super Catch Beam against the Nautilus. After being suspended in mid-air and attacked with atomic vibrations, the ship faces dire circumstances. Then, second-in-command, Electra, hatches a plan.

Farewell Nautilus

The Nautilus sinks toward the ocean floor. Captain Nemo assembles the crew in the main block and separates the combat block which self-destructs, destroying the Garfish. Sequestered in the main cabin, Captain Nemo attempts to save Nadia and her friends.

Electra the Traitor

The Captain's cabin slowly makes its way on the sea. Nadia, Jean, Marie, and King are at constant risk of water leaking in, but they finally land on a deserted island. Nadia makes up her mind to live here, where there are no villains, or anyone else

Young Drifters

After spending a night on the island Nadia names the inlet and beach and then ventures into the forest to live without science or civilization. Meanwhile, Jean, Marie, and King construct a hut and make other preparations for living on the island.

Lincoln Island

Jean and Nadia get into a big argument about whether to eat meat, leaving Nadia angry with Jean. But when she gets sick from eating rotten spinach, Jean sets out looking for medicinal herbs and finds a strange mushroom.

The First Kiss

Nadia shows a newfound gratitude toward Jean and is much kinder to him. Seeing this, King is very hurt and runs away. Jean and everyone go looking for King. While searching, Jean accidentally falls into a ravine, and discovers a mineral vein.

King, the Lonely Lion

During a fierce typhoon King is missing. After the storm abates an unfamiliar island comes drifting by. When Nadia and friends go to rescue King the island proves to be an eerie place. To their surprise, the children also find Ayerton the oceanographer.

The Island of the Witch

Nadia and the gang run from the Kings of Terror and realize that because of gravitational anomalies they can run faster and jump higher. When the “King of Terror” is revealed to be the Gratan, the group rejoices at the reunion.

The Floating Island

On the new island, Jean and Nadia can't stop fighting, while Grandis longs for Nemo. When Sanson and Hanson get into a fight, Ayerton suggests settling the score with a race.

King vs King

The Gratan's repairs are almost complete, its destination is the eastern coast of Africa. But an outbreak of mosquitoes stops all repair work. Meanwhile Ayerton and Grandis take the Gratan for a spin and Jean and Nadia discover a mysterious hole.

Labyrinth in the Earth

Nadia finds herself in the satellite city of Red Noah. Then, a mysterious giant appears and reveals how the Atlanteans came to Earth. Nadia begins to learn the secrets of her own birth and the Blue Water. Meanwhile, Jean attempts a rescue.

Farewell, Red Noah

Jean and Grandis and everyone escape on the Gratan as the island begins to submerge. When they crash-land in Africa, Nadia is smitten with Hamahama, a boy she meets. When she visits a ruin in his village, she learns a story about her homeland.

Nadia's Love

In an attempt to rescue King from Grandis’s first love Gonzalez, Grandis and Nadia are also captured. Meanwhile, Jean and Sanson plan a detailed rescue operation with Hamahama and the villagers, but their calculations go wrong.

King's Rescue

Having had her heart broken, Nadia is feeling very down. In order to write Nadia a song, Jean works on a new invention. But he becomes too absorbed with his project, and Nadia is annoyed at being ignored.

My Darling Nadia

The Gratan reaches Nadia's homeland Tartessos. When Nadia wanders into the lake, it splits, revealing a mysterious underground ruin. Guided by power of the Blue Water, the group advances through a subterranean passage.

The Secret of Blue Water

Nadia attempts to save Jean and her friends but Gargoyle begins his attack. Jean and the gang are rescued in the nick of time by a small vessel. Then Electra guides them to a strange object that looks like rusty scrap metal.

The New Nautilus

N-Nautilus evades attack in an underground tunnel. Meanwhile, Emperor Neo unleashes the powers of the Blue Water, and Red Noah is fully resurrected. Having met Emperor Neo, Nadia stumbles onto his real identity.

Emperor Neo

A battle begins between N-Nautilus and Red Noah but Red Noah is protected by an electromagnetic barrier. When the Gratan finally manages to break the barrier it charges to destroy the Tower of Babel.

To the Sky

Nadia's brother, Neo, has been turned into a puppet by Gargoyle. When Neo miraculously regains consciousness, he risks his life to save Nadia from her brainwashed state. Amidst Gargoyle’s attack, a devastated Nadia must make her final decision.
